lecture by christoph frauenberger
just a few words :
iARS is available for all netscapebrowsers, real time, and it is using pd in the background (uses regualar pd-patches). There are two externals (by thomas grill), multichannel streaming the structure is, that it loads in real time a pd from the server, and you can get gem within browser plug-in. The shown exampel is an iARS browser plugin in action, the detail (the graphical user/interface) shows, that it is to save the current state and just to admit it. The control elements are a grouping mechanisms to place, they (pd makes xml-file) are more likely to receive data, and are to form groups. The second example gives the idea of building GUI: which is to start with a plain xml, followed by supergroup (horizontal orientation), then add levelmeter, control (vertical, 120 pic.), name of bindings, and embedding it inter html. There are two parameters: 1) where´s the patch 2) where the graphical interface Result: (introducing music streams): to start a stream: online streaming introduced to iARS (e.g. for 8 channels: ambisonic rendering by headphones: could be in the virtual room) A potential impact is that it is the first prototype. The intention: a musical context in his historical context (sitting in the living room and enjoying the feeling of a concert -room)
what is it good for? -new multimedie context in www -still experimental, but ready to get used -build more sample explications -actual discussion make more stable & independent (bring more pd into)
